Also, did you call Cornelia's/Belmont Hardware in Santa Clara? Sometimes they have faucets on display there too. One other place that might have one and that you should call: Standards of Excellence Appliance store in San Jose. They have a whole bunch of demo kitchens and might have one there even though they are not a plumbing store.

Most people are not sink obsessed like the people here. If the look passes for you, then it will be fine. I bet someone will photoshop it in for you. It will be one thing in your kitchen and after it's done, it won't be under such scrutiny as it is at this moment while you're trying to decide if it will work. Does this particular sink have "wings" on each end? I only looked at it on one site and it looked on their picture as if there was a protrusion on each side to kind of hold it in place? I couldn't decide just how it really looked in real life by that picture. IF it really does have something extra on each side that would prevent it from being recessed enough, can you find another sink enough like it to use instead?

Thank you for all the wonderful pictures and advice - it is so helpful to see examples of the SS apron sinks installed in real kitchens. akchicago was correct about the design - the Tuscan inspiration is driving the color choices for the walls and cabinets (or vice versa, not really sure - lol) and some small elements like the range backsplash but since this is a work in progress we could change course at any time! Tuscan is just the closest I can come to putting a name on what I'm picturing in my head. And to put things in perspective, this house is very rundown. It was built in 1950 and when the original owners died it became a rental property for many years. We're not concerned with resale in the current state this house is in - any update to the kitchen will be an improvement. If this house was sold, as is, today, it would be sold at property value probably for no more than it would sell for if there was no house here at all. It's one of the last original, un-renovated homes in the neighborhood and it hasn't been kept up. It needs to be completely remodeled or, more likely, rebuilt. Until that can happen we just want a kitchen that we are comfortable in and makes us happy :-). I'll post some "before" pictures when I figure out how to do that. And I'd LOVE to see more pics of SS apron sinks installed in real lived-in kitchens and faucet recommendations, these are awesome examples so far. Thank you so much!

Good luck on finding one. When we were thinking about one, ran into the same problem you're having. Fortunately, a person down the street just had one installed. Although we went with a different set-up & color, my wife really likes hers. Be aware of what model you choose, may take a larger cabinet size. Since I was remodeling the kitchen, it really didn't have any impact on what one she wanted. However, glad she decided before we put in a standard 33" base, otherwise we would've had a problem.
