Ignore it. Most people will not notice because the peak is so high. I also have a fireplace that is not centered with the peak. I didn't realize it until about 5 years after I moved in and measured the wall in order to hang a piece of art. Had it not been for that I would still think it was all centered. I still cannot tell that things are off, even with the art drawing the eye up towards the peak.

If you can keep a low-light tree alive, go for it. If not. there are plenty of very realistic ones available if you shop carefully.

Are you sure your seating wouldn't be better placed this way in the room?

I would like that arrangement, but it would block the back door and pathway to the kitchen. I definitely need a tall plant. I had a fiddle leaf fig in that location but it didn’t do well. I may have to go with a faux tree. Thanks for the suggestions!

I know I am not working with actual dimensions on anything, but are you sure seating can't be shifted to miss the door swing?

Add a rug to cover the entire seating area and center it with the fireplace. That should add symmetry.

Built-ins flanking fireplaces are very overrated, imo. In a majority of cases, it exhibits very little creative pizazz - I.e. is mainly run of the mill and expected; and adds unnecessary bulk that usually ends up housing lots of unnecessary stuff.

I like your mirror and lamp setup. If you paint that wall a color, it could create more of a feature wall; and it could also lend more architectural interest - which would eliminate the symmetry issue.

The visualizer painted the mantel, too - which was not my plan; but I think that could actually work, too.

Spend money instead, on a really great rug, and custom window treatments that take away the Grommet and Bed Bath Beyond effect at the windows. Add some texture and color to the space.: )

No builtins 2 nice low cabinets one on either side one with the TV mounted on the wall above the cabinet and a piece of art above the other cabinet will take oyur eye away forn the off center . Mount the TV at the proper viewing height please You can put it on an articulating arm of just reposition the furniure .
