I tried bloodmeal, but the rabbit still came back and ate all my trollius golden plant. I just planted it too, and it was about to open its flower I was so excited only to wake up and look through my window and see only the stalks of the plant. I cried, I really do. Plus it is 2 rabbits a big one and a small one.

Raven it's a saga!!! He fell one night mid July, getting off the couch. His legs gave way from under him. 11 pm, and ambulance took him to hospital. MRI showed new cancer spot on his T-2 which was blocking the signals to his lower body to move. 5 bouts of radiation and he can move his legs. 2 weeks in hospital, a bit of walking with help and a walker, and can pull himself around with wheelchair using his legs. Sent to another hospital for re-hab, July 30. Did a bit of re-hab and then he wasn't able to do any. Platelets and white blood cells are low, he's anemic, blood pressure is low, heart rate is high (now settling in the mid-90's). Has another cancer spot on his liver, but 2 ultra-sounds show that it's not growing, which is good, because he wouldn't be allowed to have chemo anyway because his levels are all low. We are NOT happy at all with the hospital he's in (in a neighbouring city). We actually met with a social worker and a health care worker, who flat out said, the second week of August, that he's being discharged on Aug. 21 but won't be able to come home, because he can't walk up the 3 flights of stairs to our apartment. (We live on the top floor of a triplex apartment building) No mention of what we're supposed to do, they're throwing him on the side of the road like an unwanted animal. Huuuuge stress for both of us. I finally saw a Dr. the Sunday before the 21st and said that he can't be discharged, he's not ready. He looked at his notes and said there was nothing there about being discharged. I told him what we were told and he said that they don't throw people out. Anyway, he's still in the same hospital, getting a little better gradually, received 2 units of blood yesterday, and now they want him to start re-hab again. He chose 2 other places for re-hab, not in this hospital. He just wants out of there. He's able to do leg exercises in bed and can sit in the wheelchair for a couple of hours.

My teenage grandson, the oldest grand, texted his cousins and me: Rabbit, rabbit, ravioli" this morning. That kid has a sense of humor and is always making jokes. For now, my family has to settle for saying rabbit, rabbit before we get dressed or leave the house. It is a stretch, but we seem to have gleaned luck anyway. We are enjoying the custom.

I don't believe in "luck", so I didn't say it. Sueb - I'll remember who to thank if that happens!! HH, I think bunny should be allowed! I cannot believe it is already August. I remember as a child my grandmother would talk about how time flies. She lived to almost 100. Now I know what she meant . . . In responding on a post about dishes (RL thread), I thought about how I want to decorate the table for Christmas. Fleeting thoughts, but it still hit me!

Thanks for the reminder. Some months I don't need it but even though I knew as soon as I woke up that it was April 1, April Fool's Day, I didn't connect rabbit rabbit.

A Belated Happy Birthday, Annie!!!

I had a lousy sleep (again). Woke up several times, and said RR every time. Finally stayed awake at 2:30 onwards. Got really tired at 5:30 but had an app't at my mechanic for 7 for my oil change, so got up at 5:45 so I wouldn't sleep in.

Jasdip, you should've called me... I woke up at 2:30 and didn't get back to sleep until 5!

I said it when I woke up at 2:30, and then said it DH when he woke up so he said it back.

Actually to cover all bases, I said, "Pele Pele, rabbit rabbit, tibbar tibbar."

I'm sorry you had a bad night, Jas. I was up for a few minutes at 3 AM, that middle of the night nature call that seems to take place any more and I'd made myself a note after reading your reminder. Said my rabbit, rabbit. Then up again at 6, DH has an appt this morning so I didn't have the luxury of sleeping later. You wouldn't think retired I'd still be getting up in the dark 😊

So...Annie's birthday is 1) March 31, or 2) April 1? (Hope it is/was grand, regardless!)

My Scots-Irish immigrant grandmother claimed the 31st to escape being the target of jokes on the real day.

chisue, I was almost an April Fool's baby, but made it to this world the day before, though I'm sure my brother would've told you it would've been more appropriate had I waited another day!
