Candles too small/narrow for holders

Would like to use this combo for the Easter table and I’m sure there is a solution to the problem! How to secure these flameless candles in holder that are a bit too wide?

If you have some other white real candles, light one and drip the wax around these candles while you hold them up straight.

There are wax dots for this purpose. My MIL would use aluminum foil around the base when she used silver holders, but that might be too visible with your glass holders.

I think something like this that is rather fiddley might be a bad idea to try to make yourself. There are SO many parts to coordinate. Now if you were able to use hot glue and then perhaps wrap raffia or a pretty ribbon around them for extra security, that would be easier. You might at least consider something like that as a back-up plan. Oh, anytime you plan to glue anything to glass, test it first! There are certain types of glass that hot glue will never stick to (as I once discovered much to my chagrin!). Some alternative sources for twigs already wired together: matchstick blinds (check at Lowe's or Home Depot for the big porch-shading type; some are plastic, but others are bamboo), bamboo fencing (some heavy-duty cutting might be required), and bamboo placemats at places like Walmart, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Linens n Things. A friend of mine had a fall-themed wedding shower. We used twirly stems from the dried flower aisle. They stuck up out of flower arrangements. You could find the twirly stems, or they have various types of twigs now. Monkey ladder is one of my favorites, but it's for a BIG arrangement. Or you could collect stems from your own yard--if your house is the one your daughter grew up in, that might be a nice sentimental touch. ;-)

@Lucy, good candles don't leave a sooty waxy residue (or any other kind of residue) on the walls. I don't have decorative candles around the house; they would be unlikely to get washed or dusted in our household. We do burn candles for Shabbat every week and on other holidays. Like others above, we prefer unfragranced. Northern Lights candles are really good. They burn very cleanly and brightly without dripping. Their website has separate sections for fragranced and unfragranced making it easy if you prefer unfragranced. It will be late for some, but they are having a Labor Day weekend sale of 20% off (until midnight EST). They are also giving 10% to a charity for the month of September. Where to place toilet roll holder in small bathroom?

I did a house with a small bathroom where the sink was next to the wall and the toilet between sink and tub. The only place for a permanently mounted roll was on the back wall which is extremely inconvenient for adults and a surefire issue for youngsters. The toilet paper stand worked great. If there is convenient space on the sidewall of the room, that would be my choice of location otherwise, freestanding holder.

If you add a pair of mirrors or other rectangle art or decorations of any kind -- even candle holders or oil lamps, etc., on the mantel -- to create a wider visual, keep them close enough to the art so they set above the metal firebox surround. If you replace the art or if you REFRAME the art you have (with an additional mat or even "framing" the framed art) so the visual will be wider, the width of that metal surround is how wide you'd want it to be. If you have documentation about the origin of the art or a picture of the artist that is frame worthy, even that could be framed beside your already framed art in a wider frame, perhaps in a recessed/protruding way. https://www.chelseaframes.com/framing-stories/ You could hang your framed picture off center and add a totally different kind of art beside what you have -- as long as it "relevant" (in your opinion) -- such as a pressed metal bird common at the beach could be hung by a beach picture.

The above ideas should work. Other tricks include wrapping bottom of candle in aluminum foil or adhesive tape to fit.

Edited to add: When I saw this earlier, I didn't see the reference to aluminum foil. Oh, well!

I'd wrap the bottoms with paper, preferably white cardboard. It's white, it will do the trick, it will be easy to remove.

I use this I just roll the end of the candle in it. Depending on how much you need to fill the space wrapping the end with masking tape also works.

I’ve also used something similar to this. Mine are little rounds of white styrofoam that keep the candle snug in the holder. Also reusable.

Depending on my amazing step-daughter for the final table arrangement. I unpack all the decor and tableware and she arranges everything.🙂

You can also use a piece of Seran wrap around the bottom of the candle. When the candle is placed in the candlestick, the Seran is barely noticeable.

Use some real candles that fit, and light them : )

Or better yet, buy a box of led votive candles and save the tapers, plop a votive on top of the holders and use MORE nestled into faux grass with the bunnies.

Wayfair, Amazon and more are merrier.
