Caldwell Pink does really well for me, healthy & beautiful blooms. It's one of the healthiest roses of any kind that I've grown. And I like its bloom form (firm little full pom poms) and color (soft medium pink with blue tone). But my Marie Pavie & Marie Daly stay smaller (superb short & wide compact habit) and have the advantage of great fragrance (sweet musk that's more than capable of carrying on the breeze). Hard for me to pick between those two. Wish I could combine them and get MP's scent and plant shape along with CP's health, color, and bloom form. I haven't grown Perle d'Or, but sure like what I've seen of that one too. Randy

There are no less than four Ligustrums that are problems for us, they are L. obtusifolium, sinense, vulgare and japonicum. They are Eurasian introductions and have become weed problems. Unkept hedges have been allowed to bloom which you showed in your pics. Berries are produced and spread by birds. The seedlings survive in shade and soon come to dominate the forest understory. I'd say that you have a major cleanup ahead. BTW take a whiff of the privet flowers. Sam

We can see just enough to tell this identification is probably correct but if you send any other subjects later note that much closer views are often required for reliable results. Also I will mention that pink forms of star magnolia and the Loebner magnolia selection 'Leonard Messel' can look very similar without close comparative inspection.

First pic looks like a Viburnum. Among the most popular varieties for hedging in Florida are odoratissimum (Sweet Viburnum) and suspensum (Sandankwa). Yours seems to look more like the latter.
