Oooh, love that geometric print! Kudos to you for not being afraid of pattern. The blue stripe looks like it is too white to go with greige sofa fabric. Put the geometric fabric next to the greige to make sure it’s also not too white. The animal-ish print goes well but doesn’t have much zing.

I like the blue and white “wave like” fabric It def works with the taupe-gray sofa and has a coastal feel. The smaller print works, but the blue adds more punch and fun.

I like the irregular patterned fabric since it seems to relate well to the solid fabric to be used for the sofa.

The gray one in the middle (bottom) looks like it would work best.

But what rug are you getting? That may help make the decision.

I agree, Diana, but it just lacks the punch and brightness that I’m looking for. The room has agreeable gray walls and choosing this fabric would work, but it would be more neutral/monochromatic. I was looking for something with a bit of pop since it’s a second home on the coast And needs the feel of the water.

Right now I have a company, C rug, printed blue tape background, a little green, but that will be moved to another room so I would choose the rug last. Leaning
towards a neutral with just a hint of color, but more neutral.

I might also add, this is an open floor concept, so the large kitchen has gray mist cabinets and a creamy quartz with subtle gray veining. The island is 10’ long.

I like a rug with some action. It also hides permanent stains really well.

I think the blue stripe-y one looks the freshest. I like the leopard print too but, like Diana said, it's too close to the color of the sofa. But maybe for pillows on the blue chairs?

I like the blue stripes. The geometric one makes me feel dizzy (although half my family currently has the flu, so it could be that... ha sob).

I agree, Emily, I love geometric prints,, but this particular one is too close together or something. It’s some thing that would bother my eyes, and I believe I would tire off quickly.

Thoughts on this? Bottom, solid fabric, sofa, blue and white, wavy fabric above solid sofa
fabric, two chairs, and then pillows on the sofa and maybe two pillows of the wavy fabric. too much?

The rug will not be staying that will be moved to another part of the house.

I agree, the sea life is pretty but might lean too theme-y. You have a solid and a stripe -- what about an organic pattern for some pillows? I like your idea of doing pillows in the chair pattern too.

You might get inspired by Mark D Sikes. He does blue and white so well!

Thank you,stiles! Good inspiration and ideas! I love stripes. Have two striped chair in the study, pictured below. Didn’t want to do stripes in the great room. Thought it would might be too much, but the blue wavy pattern is a very relaxed wavy type stripe.

I had considered moving these two chairs into the great room and getting two new chairs for the study.
