Adding warmth to grey and white bathroom
The primary bath in our new home is very boring to me with all the white and grey. I prefer warmer colors with bold accents like the last pic. The counters are luna pearl granite. I’m considering adding 2 framed mirrors instead of the builder grade mirror. I really like black fixtures but I’m not sure if maybe bronze would add more warmth. I’m also afraid of clashing with the chrome shower door. Maybe painting the walls or vanity? What colors would compliment the granite?

Comments (6)Lovely! I like the classic white tile and porcelain and how you used furniture pieces in the bathroom. I love that the storage at the end of the tub has pull-outs that can be reached from the toilet. Your custom sink and backsplash and counter are unique and beautiful. Yours may be the first bathroom sink I have seen in which a small or medium dog could be washed! That is a good thing! I showed your pictures to my DH because I am thinking of classic tiled walls with a chair rail for when we redo our bath in a couple of years. He liked it! I was expecting him to say, "too old fashioned." He did not, he said it looked nice. From him, nice is a compliment. He even liked your rows of listello. I was just at the Tile Shop's site the other day looking at the Hampton tiles because someone was selling some on Craigslist. I am hoping to do as you did and get what I can cheaper there, and fill in the rest from the store. I can see that you worked very hard to secure all of your materials - and then cut the floor tiles to size and culled the Hampton tiles, too! Comments (15)We are trying to decide between white subway tile in the bathtub area only, which will go to the ceiling, vs the tender gray tile. I plan on a white vanity not sure about the vanity top yet. Also plan on vinyl bead board and a wood look tile floor . Any advice would be appreciated . Don't want it to be to stark, but at the same time want it to be timeless and bright . Comments (14)Thank you everyone for some great ideas. There is no natural light, but it really isn't as yellow as it looks in the photos. Probably a really good idea to prime first and then look again at my swatches. The gray idea came from another post about a bathroom with almond fixtures. In that discussion it was mentioned that white or cream makes the almond/beige fixtures and tiles look dirty. They had finally decided on a gray color (SW Mindful Gray) that had some warm tones in it. From the photos, it looked good, but I know it is difficult to tell in a photo. Comments (44)How about not painting anything and just putting up loads of painting and photos (obviously one's that don't mind stream) - almost everything looks great on a white background especially if the frames are coloured. 9 months agoYou could paint the walls the color of the wall tile behind the tub. Paint the vanity a warm color from the granite. Consider wood accents as well.
It sounds counter-intuitive, but blue or blue/gray would bring out the warmth in the stone through contrast. Here are some examples of how blue can warm up stone.
9 months agoSince you’ve just moved in, I would first try warming up the bath with accessories. Once you’ve lived with it a while, you’ll have a better sense of what, if anything, you want to replace.
9 months agoObviously this is a kitchen but the aged brass hardware and wood touches really warm it up. You could frame your mirror in stained wood.
PRO9 months agolast modified: 9 months agoThis could be transformed into a very sophisticated pink and gray room. Paint the walls a very light warm pink, add more shine and sparkle with a different light fixture with some crystals. Add a clingfilm stained glass look to the windows, and some rugs and towels.
