Shadow-like discoloration on Danby marble

We had our Danby marble counters installed a few weeks ago, but only started really cooking in our kitchen (using our new induction range) about a week ago. Tonight I noticed discoloration on the marble where it meets the range — it’s most prominent on the right side, but there’s a blotch on the left side, too.

It looks like wetness, but these counters have not seen any moisture other than being wiped down with a damp cloth, and I know they’re well sealed (any liquid that hits them beads up completely). Given that the stain only started once I began cooking, it seems likely it has something to do with heat. Maybe heat from the oven is heating up the adhesive used to install it?

Does anyone have any idea what’s going on here and whether it's fixable? (Or at least preventable from happening elsewhere on the marble?)
