China cabinets are bit of adated look why not look at a buffet instead and put the china out of sight . Then you can add nice piece of art nd maybe use that cabinet in walk in closet for accessories I do that a lot with clients that have inherited pieces that are not really their style .

it's a personal choice... you can get creative and paint the interior for some interest.

That said, at first glance, I would paint the cabinet Swiss Coffee

it's a nice compliment to the Pale Oak, but so much depends on what your goal is... pulls and accent colors including using a Rub& Buff product... is it a DIY or do you just want a solid color repaint?

Start by looking at the Pale Oak color strip and see if any of the hues would work.

I think your cabinet is lovely.

But if you would really like to paint it, there are range of tonal relatives to select from.

You may choose something somewhat similar in value (lightness) but with a touch more chroma (degree of colour), for just a gentlem subtle effect.

It's so much a part of me, so I just can't bring myself to hide the China cabinet, but I see your point. Thanks!

Painted furniture tends to scream LOOK AT ME. White is the exception. You seem to like white, so keep it going.

If you truly want it to blend in seamlessly with the room, then paint it the same color as the walls - the pale oak.

What about spray painting your chandelier and china cabinet a bronze color to tie into your chairs?

Just a thought from my perspective. I think if you do love displaying your dishes why not have the cabinet be afocal point in a color to not disappear. Maybe a nice navy or if you trully want it to disapper the same as the walls or the trim

Here’s a muted blue that could pickup the blue in your rug. Since the side panel of your cabinet will show the bulk of the new color, cut out a piece of poster board, paint that first and tape to the side to get a visual. Pretty cabinet.

The black cabinet looks good, but the blue is really nice and more my taste.

Equally important, note that they both have white interiors. Without that white, I don't think either one would "work". If you're going for something cottage-y, you could cut thin cardboard or styrafoam backings and cover them with fabric. Point is, don't ignore the inside.

Late to this thread but I like the small china cabinet a lot. My first ththought is to paint the outside with pashmina and the inside with the blue paint I would also use skk some blue and white vases

Great idea, seajay. The back wall of the cabinet could be painted or wallpapered a blue shade to tie in with the blue water in the landscape on the wall and/or the blue in the carpet pattern below. But I would keep the white vases on top - they are lovely and don't stop your eye from moving around the room to enjoy the entire environment.
