I don't know much about Damask roses, but any rose for the bay area should be as Powdery Mildew resistant as you can get. Rust is a lesser problem, and Black Spot isn't very much of a problem at all, but this area is Powdery Mildew heaven. Maybe ask on the old fashion rose forum which Damask is the most Powdery Mildew resistant. I love roses, but having to spray monthly kind of spoils it for me, so I have tossed all the ones that get mildew easily. Regan's is a really nice nursery. And yep, bare-root season is long past. You can get roses in containers now, but they're more expensive and the selection of varieties is limited. They may not have any Damask even in bare-root season though. Old fashioned roses are hard to find in regular nurseries. Try "Roses of Yesterday and Today", they're on the coast south of Santa Cruz and also do mail order. Very nice place, worth the trip out there, you can make a day of it. Probably the only place you're going to find lots of old fashioned roses this time of year. marcolo- Thanks! I really don't want to price things if they don't look right to begin with. I want to know what I want before I have the GC go searching a million things. Right now, a rectangular casement is in the building plan with a Colonial or Modified Colonial Grille pattern. Same for the glass side door to our deck. I just thought the above was pretty but figured you might say it doesn't "fit". (which is fine.) There's also the "prairie" grill pattern for window and door but I doubt that works either? Do you think colonial? Suggestions? I AM thinking of doing some upper cabs with glass- I was thinking leaded but may change that based on budget. Like these: or this, but I like the glass better-- even if it's more simple than above? I appreciate any suggestions... I'm willing to let the arch look go or perhaps I'll just do the arched valance over window (depending on window) which the cabinet guy said is no problem...

I'm getting my Culina in next week. I think what you heard was general reputation. This faucet has great reviews. At first I was going to get a Grohe or Hansgrohe (which are more popular) but I personally think this is a better faucet than anything in that range from either of those vendors. The magnetic pull is really nice. Of course, mine isn't actually installed yet. :)

I am using New Ornamentale which is a lot like the New Venetian Gold. I'm not sure if it's the same as Giallo Ornamentale or not (it seems so many places put their own name on the slabs). It does have some movement, which is why I ended up selecting it over the New Venetian Gold. I will be seeing the templating of my slab this week and will take pictures to share. I don't have any pics of the slab at this time. My cabinets are all cherry. The perimeters are in a toffee (medium brown) stain, and the island is in an espresso (dark brown) stain. The granite was beautiful with both.
