How many rugs in your bathroom?
Comments (15)Three in the full bathroom (one in front of tub, one @ vanity, and one @ toilet), but our bathroom is a "bowling alley" with freezing-cold floors. Eventually they'll be replaced with a pretty runner but that's quite a ways down the road. I have rubber backed ones I bought about 6 years ago from KMart's Maaaaahthah ;-) line and they're holding up very well to machine washing and air drying, no crumbling backings or fading. The half bath has a small rug by the sink and one of those awful contour rugs in front of the toilet but they were quite nice rugs for free so I wasn't going to complain! LOL I did throw the accompanying "toilet seat beret" in a Goodwill box though....See MoreLooking for bathroom runner
Comments (6)Amazon has a dark gray one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y5C0OIM/ref=twister_B00RQVO83G?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 2x8 is hard to find in a machine washable rug. It would be much easier to find two 2x4s in your colors. Are you open to a runner that could be washed outside, vs. machine washable? http://www.amazon.com/Striped-Braided-Durable-Outdoor-Washable/dp/B00L4JHPV8/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1434431056&sr=1-1&keywords=yellow+gray+white+2x8+washable+runner...See Moreplease help me take my bathroom to the next level!!
Comments (9)On my screen, I cannot tell what color the shower tiles are. Are they a warmer beige-y? If so, I wouldn't go with a cool-toned counter. I understand you are on a budget. If that were my bathroom, I'd do what you're doing. Leave the tiled shower (which has some color to it--can't tell if warm or cool), but get a countertop that works with it. I would do neutral. For myself, I'd probably choose white Corian, if that works with the tile colors. Paint the cabinet. Nice touch to raise it up. Instead of those little gray rugs, I'd purchase a rug with color in it (maybe a runner). I do not see any disadvantage in having a skylight in your bathroom, and it seems like a nice-sized room to me. I am unsure why people are telling you to rip out a nice-looking shower. Finally, with lighter colors, I'd paint those mirrors something else. They look black on my screen....See MoreRug for bathroom
Comments (49)I really got derailed yesterday by the body dryer concept... in a fun way! Amazon carries yours and a different version I also explored that people may want to check out because it's smaller, portable, and less expensive. Yours looks better to me though for getting a person dry. I was unable to find a review article comparing them. The concept is new in the US. The reason I went to Amazon was for reviews. And some of those were in French! I think some reviews showed the users had unrealistic expectations that caused them to rate the dryers poorly. Some examples are air speed and temperature. Some people were disappointed at the highest temperature being below body temperature. I have a digital thermometer in my bathroom and can say the temperature after a shower is around 80F. The high temp from the one body dryer was above that, so I'm not worried. I also crave a cool breeze after a shower in the summer. Someone else actually measured the airflow and said it wasn't 100 mph...well duh...that would be a safety issue. I was tickled at the other uses advertised: next to the pool to dry off the family before they came back inside, and drying off freshly washed pets! Too funny seeing videos of that! One review of the plug-in floor models pointed out that a remote control would be nice, and one model has that.
