I assume you are planning to use that shelving for a pantry so IMO first step get some doors on it I do not like laundry where food is stored so maybe show us the whole space and a bit about what oyu would like to store here

You could probably go a bit deepr than 14" if you did not take the new cabinets right to the door The new depth for upper cabinets is 15" so maybe check out what you can get in the way of storage at that depth . BTW I have often used upper cabinets but done like lowers in tight spaces ,Ikea does a 15" deep pantry cabinet.

I would check on IKEA cabinets. We used several of their boxes for a deeper cabinet in an area of our laundry room (and then got doors that matched the rest of the cabinets).

At sue, thanks that was what we were thinking too... since shallow depth, using upper cabinets as base cabinets. Ur space looks just like ours in terms of depth. I like what you've done!! 👍

Sue’s cabinets are just what you need. The counterspace would break up the tunnel-feel in your laundry room, since there will be a cabinet across the aisle. And it is a handy place to set something you took out of the pantry cabs, or set things when you have a handful to put back, or keep the cookie jar!
