What is this species and what should I do about it? It's encroaching from and completely submerging the bottom of the side fence and I've been advised it would be a great place to raise and house snakes.
This is in Northcote Melbourne, a couple of blocks from a creek and parkland.
Open to suggestions but I think removing all of it might be best. So pull it up if possible? Herbicide?
Its called seaside daisy. Erigeron karvinskianus. It is a commonly planted garden plant though it can spread. I have planted it my garden because it is a 'smother all plant' and is a great space filler if you have a large garden. As for snakes, dont worry about it. I have seen many snakes at my place (near Nowra), and none of them have been hiding in this plant.
