Quick update and many, many thanks to everyone who offered ideas and suggestions: All bedding ordered on ebay, and all received. I ordered the RL comforter, top sheet, pillowcases and sham in the discontinued Putney pattern. The Sferra Bros. matelasse coverlet is also from ebay, another jynx find :) After spending hours in the two best Atlanta fabric houses (Lewis and Sheron and Forsyth Fabrics), I went to Lenox with my daughter and found the perfect---and I mean PERFECT---curtains at (of all places!) Pottery Barn Kids. We were there looking for a present for my nephew! $80 per panel for 96" length, lined curtains that can be used with drapery pins or directly on the pole. (I stuck them up on a rod I had around just to see what they'd look like.) At Ballard Designs Backroom I found a large mirror with useful hooks on both sides (this will have to be hung by our handyman) and a tall corner shelf. Both had minor scratches and were about 1/2 off. I brought up from the summer kitchen downstairs a table my mother had given me years ago, made of blue and white pottery shards, and brought up an extra Parsons chair to replace the kitchen French Country kitchen chair. I found the tan windowpane slipcover at Ballards, also. Two wall-mounted, swing-arm lamps have been ordered in antique brass for either side of the bed, and I am still looking for a candle lantern in dull brass to go on the right side of the armoire (to replace the clock) and another painting or print for the wall that joins that corner at right angles. Also looking for blue/white porcelain finials in a round ball shape for the wall lamps, and plan to unearth my Christmas plates and hang them this weekend! the table I already had:

Bring in your color with art or with a slipper chair. It's a real paint to have to remove innumerable pillows every single night, and with a bunch, the chances the bed will be made in the morning, goes down quickly.

Back with an update! We were able to move our nightstands back into the room. I was also able to start putting together blue & white bedding to see how it would look, as I already had some components on hand and I was able to scoop up a quilt the other day that I really liked the texture and colors of. You can also see the night stands and how they look with the bed. We had to top them with grey in order to cover up some damage to the tops as we were repainting them. The other option was to sand and re-stain them, and we were trying to avoid that. So far, I'm liking how the blue & white is coming together. In order to complete the look, I am thinking that a blue comforter and blue shams with some sort of textural look would be a great final touch, along with a few new throw pillows to pull it together on the bed. The coverlet in the last picture is a very light one that I had in storage that I just put there temporarily to visualize a blue comforter until I can settle on one. I was also thinking of switching out the sheets to a pale aqua or grey to add interest to the bed. Future plans also include changing out the lamps or repainting the bases antique gold or something to bring some warmth and such to the room.. but I'd like to get the bed figured out first! :) PS we got the bed this past weekend, and I LOVE it! It was a great buy! Currently, I am going between several shades of blue, etc. for the comforter and shams. I am going between this navy chenille set Or one of these pin tucked style comforters in either the bright blue or the navy or even a light blue or, lastly, this "blue" (that's what the description says, I'm not sure if it is blue, but we will see!!!) chenille comforter I really love the look of the navy chenille in the picture, but I'm worried about it looking dark in the room but then at the same time, all of the furniture will be white, etc... soooo?? Next step will be window treatments... which I need to figure out as well... but I'd like to get the bed figured out first! Any thoughts? I've kind of pulled this color palette together.. so I'm going to try to pull it all together with this. This particular artist even sells throw pillows of this painting... so that's a thought. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!

So very sorry, I wouldn't have wanted that table in YOUR room, if you were her grand ma. It would need a gallon of paint : ) and even then... If I were three, it would depress the living daylights out of me on sight. It depresses me as of now! When tasked with any project, any age of client , any space ? Designers try to get in the head of the USER of that space. This is two clients, one is three and her mommy's age?. ......irrelevant but she's not three. You don't mean to, but you are asking for wheel reinvention. Return the bed. It's 600 back in your pocket. A Put the Queen mattress, and it's box spring on an ordinary metal hollywood frame. Add a dust ruffle in white ( scroll back up , I gave you a 37.00 screen shot ) Get the HEAD BOARD only ( overstock /screen shot details up above ) Add a rug in cotton, 6 x9 , 123.00 bucks ( Link at bottom ) ...keep the curtains, lose that side table to another spot. pleeeze. And try to see this room through the eyes of a child. You need a white bedside table. Don't waste paint/labor on that one. : ( Even this won't look great on the dark brown wall to wall carpet. Nothing will. But it's as budget friendly as can be.
