Would using an accent above a shower surround look weird?

We recently had a new shower surround put in our primary bathroom. The surround does not go all the way to the ceiling. All of the fixtures are a brushed nickel and the surround is basically white with some gray/tan veining. Next to the shower is a sliding glass door trimmed in gold. Right now there is old wall paper above the shower that is beginning to peel. I found a heavy duty octagon peek and stick backsplash that comes in almost 12 x 12 sheets. It is basically white, but has veining and each octagon is outlined with gold trim. I thought this might tie that corner if the room together. Your thoughts?
