I did a lot of research on this since I had been so unhappy with the tub we had in our previous house. We had the typical jetted whirlpool tub. Even with weekly cycling bleach through the piping, we would still get black flecks pumped into a clean filled bath when the jets got turned on. If you Google "black flecks/flakes/gunk whirlpool" you'll get lots of info on this. When I looked into the air tubs, it seemed that there was still about 1/2 cup of water that would sit in the piping and could mold etc. I found out about Sanijet tubs and looked at their website and spoke to a couple of very helpful people when I called Sanijet. They have a pipeless system where individual jets intake water and the jets are easily removable and can be cleaned in a dishwasher. (View videos of this on the website) Another huge plus is that these jets are much less noisy than the typical whirlpool tub. Ours is ordered but not yet installed. We got a big 2 person tub. I think it measured 72 x 42. They run specials periodically. We got ours at 50% off list price. The company has no showrooms. Fergusons used to carry them but I read that Kohler (which is their main brand) made them discontinue that line since Sanijet states how hygienic Sanijet tubs are which I guess infers that the other tubs aren't. I hope to be able to report back here once I get into the new house. The company will tell you the nearest Bed and Breakfast or hotel that has their tubs installed so you can try them!

seattlemamadrama ~Well my Wasauna story ended badly. The first tub was drained the wrong way for me. I shipped it back at their expense and received my replacement last week. The crate was in horrible condition, held together by plastic wrap about 2 times around it. The person who sent it to me must have received my tub and we just traded. I sent him one in perfect condition never removed from the crate. The tub he sent me was dirty, removed from the crate and damaged with scratches. I refused the delivery and call Alex for a refund. He tried to give me 300.00 off and get a new one sent to me but I just took my refund. I have not seen the credit on my card as yet, it has been 4 days. I would say stay away from them. If you're on a well, residential well systems normally cycle between 40-60psi. There is a small pressure gauge at the base of your water holding tank. On municipal water, the pressure can either be nicely regulated, or it can be all over the place. One friend up in MA had 90psi! The high pressure was killing plumbing fixtures on his street. You can call your water service and ask the psi. But 40-60 is a steady target range. Valve manufacturers usually publish a flow vs psi chart, similar to the chart below: You might find it on a manufacturers website. You don't need to worry about your 2GPM shower head. The valve you choose will be capable of passing more than 2GPM through to the head, but the shower head itself will restrict the outflow to 2GPM. Example in the chart below, as PSI increases, the GPM flow out of the tub spout increases since the tub spout has no internal flow restrictor. But the shower head eventually caps out at 2.5GPM, since it's a "2.5GPM shower head".

Successfully called Delta to get free replacement parts for shower valves in my 24 year-old house. This year's request took several weeks because it was out of stock, so the part had to be made. Plumber was going to charge $27 for the part. Got weekly emails on the status and shipping of the part. Kohler, used in MBath remodel, quickly sent out a free replacement hose (1 of 2 had peeling chrome). Blanco also quickly sent free replacement hose (leak) for 8 year-old kitchen faucet. Good experiences with these 3 manufacturers.
