Do you have a "coffee station"? Post pics?
Comments (38)1929Spanish - Love your kitchen! It's funny that you and your husband have different coffee makers. My daughter and her husband do too! We make fun of them all the time. It's really a stubborn thing on the husbands side. They had a drip, but it made a whole pot that they didn't need it. My daughter is a teacher and just wanted to make a quick cup on her way out of the house in the morning. She wanted a Keurig like her mothers. :) Her husband said it was a waste of money and they didn't need another. She bought one anyway - with her money. He said he didn't like the taste and would continue to use HIS drip model. One day my daughter tricked her husband and made a whole pot of coffee, but served him hers from the Keurig. He never suspected. But now that the cat is out of the bag, he is even more determined to use his machine. Good thing they have a large kitchen with loads of counter space....See MoreQuestion about 'coffee station' area.
Comments (3)Yeah, that would be my instinct, too. But I guess it's still tidier and nicer to have the coffee in it's own area, even if you are looking at an open cabinet (appliance garage) for an hour or two each morning... do you think? Seems I have seen photos where people are actually brewing coffee IN the cabinet, or coffee cabinets with no counter TO pull it out to, and I thought, "hmmm, that doesn't seem quite right!" OTOH, I have worked on so many photo shoots I know that stylists and photographers often prop shots in ways that are nothing like the reality of using the things being photographed!...See MoreCoffee Station
Comments (12)Mine is a hutch built into our breakfast room and just a few steps from the main sink (a DW and small drawer stack away). Since our espresso machine has a tank that only needs filling a couple of times a week, it's no big deal. The base is 15" drawers on either side of 24" fridge drawers. The fridge drawers make this not just a coffee station but also beverage central and the lunch making station -- taking a lot of foot traffic out of the kitchen when it's time to cook and set the table as well as other times. The uppers are 15" custom leaded glass doors with 2 small drawers below that come down to the counter. DH wondered what we'd use those small drawers for and realized we could use 2 more. They hold napkins, trivets, wine gadgets, tea stuff as well as vitamins and some pill bottles. The leaded glass cabinets have our glasses and stemware while I decided to put coffee mugs on the bottom shelf of the bookcase that goes between the two upper cabinets. It doesn't come down to the counter, so it creates the nook where our coffee maker and a few accessories sit. I was going to take a photo since the last attempt was with a camera that got dropped and was out of focus, but DH took the camera on a trip out of town. Here's a drawing of the plan before we added glass doors....See Morehelp? i need a 4' hand sink/ coffee station to design
