Has anyone thought of growing western pine species in the Midwest?

I know I may sound stupid but I would love to try and grow a couple pine species that may or may not survive the zone 6 summer and winter, I would like to try Pinus sabiniana, coulteri, lambertiana, jeffreyi, and maybe a Lodgepole pine, will these species contract needle cast? Will some not survive the winter?
