racket, I don't think I will spend the extra on a heat exchanger. I am coastal calif. and it does not get cold here. Mike at Coastal Products said I want good circulation everywhere in the room. That's why he said the 480 cfm fan should be across the room from the air replacement vent--so the air moves. (The room has a sliding glass door I can leave open for air replacement, at least while I am in the tub.) poolguynj, I believe the unit will come supplied with an ozonator. if not I should probably add that feature. michelle, I will definately wire for 220. It is new construction and that will be easy. ronnatalie, I'd like to know more about your indoor swimming pool room. Is the cover enough? No special exhaust fan? No special vapor barrier? Stupid, stupid, stupid... the new code and the fasct that your PB did not inform you of this during the design stage. My PB put the two drains on the bottoms of the sides, therefore getting the required 3 feet of space between them. If you want the extra seating, and why wouldn't you, then have him do this. The disadvantage to this is that in order to fully drain the tub, you have to manually do something to suck out the last 2 or 3 inches of water. And the drains do not suck up anything that is not floating w/in the water column, so you have to vacuum the tub floor more often to get rid of the heavy dirt.

Main panels always have the ground and neutral share the same bus. Yes, your ground and neutral going to the subpanel share the same bus in the main panel. The reason is because the main panel is the last place where electricity leaves your house on its way back to the POCO's transformer. Any ground fault or neutral return current is combined at the main panel so that it can't stray anywhere else and cause shocks or fire. It's kind of like the sewer pipe in your house. All sewage and weeping tile water is collected at the catch basin in your basement where it all combines into 1 big pipe leaving for the street. Once it's all in the big pipe, it all goes to the same place.

Using the calculator above, I get the following results (200' run, 50A, 240V): #6 9.5V drop 4% #4 6.0V drop 2.5% The other formula I used gave slightly lower results. It seems like 4% is real borderline. I will check the distance and if less than 200', might consider #6. My understanding is a max of 3% for the sub so that the total does not exceed 5%. I am on a dedicated transformer providing a 200A service within 100' of the home. Have no idea the size of the feeder line. The house is all electric but is not large as it is a weekend place. Thanks,
