Whilrlpool Dishwasher soapy

Have a dishwasher since the house was built (2009) and we are 2nd owners.

In the last 2-3 years, when dishes were not clean , I have cleaned/replaced the "food screen chopper" thrice and it would work fine with a cycle lasting 40-50 mins.

Now lately it seems to stop in the middle and we have to switch off and on the actual switch for it to start again. It took easily 1.5 hrs to finish a cycle and the dishes had a slight soapy residue.

The actual switch is kind of lose, you can easily flip it up and down, could this be breaking the circuit for the dishwasher to stop in the middle?

Is this a simple "switch" which needs to be replaced or just get a new dishwasher.

Thoughts?
