Can you have too many built-ins?
Comments (25)Hi Annette- Re the broken decanter, ( my cat broke an irreplaceable family item and I know how the loss feels) ) - but for not one of a kind items, I have had good luck with eBay searches which send emails to you of pictures and descriptions from their listings.-follow a search such as "vintage frosted glass decanters." and who knows what might eventually show up. Best of luck with your new home!...See MoreWhat to put in this built-in instead of TV?
Comments (16)Thanks everyone for the ideas. I will show this all to my wife and see what she says. Rebeccamomof123, you found what I had been looking for--a built in with a big open area for a painting or the like. Yes, we will have a TV still in the basement. Although, our kids seem to only watch it when they happen to notice it (which is why I am trying to put it in a less central area of the house). We might find this doesn't work and we want the TV back, which is why I want to not do anything too permanent. I considered putting in another window like the two on the sides! But we might find this idea of no central TV to be folly. We will see! Thanks....See MoreSamsung Frame tv at eye level?
Comments (24)I just went through the same thought process. There is a difference, tvs should be at eye level when sitting, art should be at eye level when standing. If you look up the average eye level for a 65" TV the center of it should probably be about 41" from the ground. If it were a painting the center of it should be at 57". So it's 16" different. I just mounted one and I decided to optimize for TV watching not art. Partly that's because I previously had a TV mounted high enough to be out of range for kitty cats and it was pretty stratospheric. Uncomfortable to watch to be honest. So anyway. To balance the Frame TV on the wall I will need other art work. Right now the TV is alone on the wall and it looks wrong when it's in art mode and you walk by it. It doesn't look that bad though. To be honest this is one of those decisions where you probably win either way. It won't be that uncomfortable to watch if you mount it at art level. And it won't look that bad if you mount it at TV level....See MoreWhat to put under Samsung Frame TV?
Comments (1)I would put a console table there, an acrylic one, with stacks of art/coffee table books underneath, or ceramic garden stools....See MoreRelated Professionals
