I am Remodleing our 70’s suburb home w formal living and a formal dining off the entryway.
The dining is smaller and opens to the kitchen.
(Temporarily have table in the formal living area and
the dining room is storage while we remodel.)

We also have a large breakfast room and den that we use most of the time.
We need a work space for my husband's computer w/ double monitors and kids laptop for homework.
I have two questions:
One - should I just use smaller formal dining as our office / homework space and throw the formal dining into the larger formal living space and call it a day? Since it opens to kitchen I feel this may feel off.
Or -
Does anyone have an idea of how to tackle this large space to make it work for office and cozy hangout space? It’s right off the entry, can remove built ins if I need to but seems like a bad idea.
I’ve seen some great library inspo. pics but none w functional computer space.
Room is about 16’ x 12’.
All flooring will be a medium hardwood.

I would love some ideas how to design it! Thank you for your help.
