fireplace remodel - mitered large format tile or microcement?

Hi,

Can really use some ideas with how to finish our fireplace. It is currently demoed, so no pics of the actual space that would be helpful (removed wood burning double-sided fireplace, replacing with a 6 ft x 20 in gas stellar enlight pier fireplace that will split my dining room and living room spaces). The picture below is what I am trying to replicate (minus the TV; top and bottom will be same color with small section of black in the midsection extending from the insert). I like the clean, minimalistic look. The bottom is wider than the top by 3" on all three sides, like in the picture; the top will be flush with the fireplace glass. First considered using large format porcelain tile (48x110", cerrad softcement white) with mitered edges (found a specialist who will do this, very expensive given all the mitered edges) but given the expense, wondering if there is a better option. Anyone use concrete/microcement to achieve a similar uniform look that they're happy with? Other paneling? Different tile? I really want it to look seamless without grout lines. Thanks in advance for any advice.
