Hi! Everyone who had looked at our wood floors had told us they were hickory, so we were planning to refinish them to be natural and thus somewhat light. The flooring person started sanding and discovered that they are in fact walnut, not hickory, which seems to be a darker floor. I've tried a quick search for walnut but just keep finding walnut stains. Any advice on whether I should do an invisible coating so they are their natural color, or a different stain? Please let me know what stain would look best if you think I should stain. They are currently very orange and our goal is for them not to be orange or red, but more of a true brown. Any advice or pictures welcome! Pictures of current floors attached. We are repainting the walls either a warm white or a light greige and the kitchen cabinets are going to be a warm white. Thanks!
