May I get some design/layout ideas for living room and 2nd bedroom?
Comments (6)Thanks all for the replies. The floorplan/construction was already done by the seller, so I didn't have a say in the bathroom unfortunately. There are pantries and closets - just missing in the floorplan :) As for dining area - this is a good point.. I was thinking of just using the island for dining area for now since it's just me... maybe replacing the "media" area with a dining table instead? I was actually hoping to shy away from a TV in living room altogether.. so it could work! Thank you for all the suggestions....See Morebedroom design ideas
Comments (10)Hello Beatrice, I put together a 3D layout for your consideration. My husband and I have our bed oriented the same way that it is shown in this design. We have the bed far enough away from the windows and curtains so that we can easily open them and draw them back onto a curtain hook. We also like it because it gives us fresh air in the evening and makes ingress and egress into the bed and in and out of the room easier for both of us. Yes this is an out of the box design but I thought that I would present it for your consideration. In the design you will find: Two 19" wide bedside tables One king sized bed One 3 to 4' bench with storage placed at the end of your bed for dressing and anything else you may want to store in it. Two dressers with matching mirrors. Only because I do not know where the closet and bedroom doors are located in the room One area rug that looks a bit like yours Two table lamps on the bedside tables One floor lamp to the left of the dresser Beatrice I sincerely hope that all is well with you and that this helps. It wasn’t quite as big as an a/c duct but stuck out and had to be covered up. We boxed it in triangle-style, as if it were the bottom of a stair that happened to clip the room. It was in a tiny bedroom in a guest house with a dresser under it and we didn’t want to lose the floor space, and didn’t want a rectangular bulkhead soffit. The dresser and ceiling clip ended up working together fine, or maybe ‘less-bad’ than it sounds. It looked kinda like this example where someone actually did box in the bottom of a stair that was clipping the ceiling In a room corner....See MoreBedroom design for a large family
Comments (28)For the people asking how, I'm going to be taking a page out of Mormon history and updating it for modern laws, since polygamy is technically illegal in Utah still, I'll be marrying one and the other four are gonna be girlfriends. I've already ran this by each of them, they all agree to doing it, hence why I'm looking into this. For 3onthetree, the property I'm going to be building on is in the mountains near where I live, so depending on where on the property we like best and gives the best view, I'd basically flatten part of the hill and set the back of the house up against the hill. I'm not gonna be doing the architecture and that, I'm trying to figure out what my women and I want in the floor plan and then we'll go to an architect, run it by them, and then find a contractor who can do the bulk of it, I can very easily finish the interior since I know how to sheetrock a room, although I'd be using hardwood instead because I'm not a fan of sheetrock. My reason for doing ICF is because, in my mind, is it means it'll last longer and it's not primarily an investment, it's primarily a home and a place to raise multiple generations of our family....See MoreRelated Professionals
