Happy New Year, Livebetter! Hmm, wonder why the Persil Gold is not on the website. It says Made in Germany on the bottle, and the entire bottle is auf Deutsch...No English/French/Italian, etc... I think Persil smells a tad better, but Dash smells clean. I did 2 loads with Dash, and the clothes look and smell great, but for some reason my stainless wash drum in my Miele looks murky & coated. The ingredients on the Persil and the Dash are very similar, and both have Phosphates. Don'd know why the Dash made the stainless look murky, almost greasy looking. Persil and Ariel (both made and purchased in Germany) leave my Stainless spotless!! I hope I can use the Dash...it smells great, clothes looked amazing and I have what looks to be like 10 liters :) Still really think Vaska Herbatergent is great, especially for towels and sheets. In fact, I think I will always use it for my towels and sheets. Perfection. Great on clothes too, but my son had some red clay on his school pants, and the Vaska did not remove it. Made it a lot better, but still there. Clorox Green Works, Persil or Ariel take red clay away quickly. Again, Happy New Year! Larsi

I have used UK Ariel and liked it. I bought it from the britsuperstore along with Comfort fabric softener. I've ordered about 3 times over the last 3 three years. Usually will order the FS and include the Ariel powder. On my last older I noticed that there were a lot Ariel detergent tablet varieties for sale and only small 10 wash load amounts of the powder. I don't want the tablets so didn't include detergent in that last order. I usually use German PERSIL but am now trying the Miele Care laundry stuff. My experience with Ariel UK is from 2 years ago when I compared it with Tide He, and Persil Megaperls. The formulations for all of these products may have changed and you may get different results in your water. The Ariel(for colors and one for whites) cleaned very well. I liked the way it rinsed cleanly from the clothes. There was no overpowering scent which is good. I did not think it cleaned as well on heavy soiled whites as the Persil. The britsuperstore is very friendly and quick, but be advised that it costs more to ship than you will actually pay for the products which is why I included other items like Fs in the shipment. I remember reading that the use of Zeolites is being phased out in Europe. The Miele detergent doesn't contain it and I guess the other brands have or will be changing their formulas to meet the environmental requirements, so am no longer sure what the results will be.

Sandy - I usually eyeball my dosing (I know that's such a no-no), but somewhere in the 3-4 TBS range. I don't have soft water and can't do extremely low dosing and still get effective cleaning. At least half of my problem with Ariel is, for sure, the washer. Your Asko can give you an insane number of rinses, of which I'm quite jealous! When I dump the Samsung, I'll definitely give it another chance :) There is a way -- though a bit challenging -- for me to get 220 into my laundry closet. I'd have to run it from the breaker box at one end of the hallway all the way to the front where the laundry is. Sounds easy, but there are a number of doorways in between. I *think* I could put the line in conduit and run it behind the crown moulding at the ceiling, but will need to explore code. If this can be done at reasonable cost, it opens the opportunity to get either a Miele or an Asko, which I would love. I know the current Mieles are 110, but the matching dryer is only electric and I currently have a gas dryer hookup only. Life in the city in small spaces!

Mama got me hooked on it. It was $6.49 for a 67.62 fl ounce jug. (2.1 quart). Is that a good price compared to American detergent?
