What dining chairs go well with this table?
Just purchased this beautiful dining room table for our mid century modern open concept dining room.
Struggling to figure out characteristics of the right chair to pair with it (shape, back height, material, upholstery color, leg style and color). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve included a 3D drawing of the room for visual context. Kitchen perimeter is IKEA Axstar white doors, and an Alabaster White Quartz countertop, island is Axstad blue, with the same counters.

Comments (2)I agree the brown chairs are too much brown. Of the chairs you show, I like either the orange or blue (based on whatever your color scheme is) and the slight tufting adds some interest. The sea-green chair has too much tufting going on for such a simple table. Actually, the maroon chairs aren't bad, but, doesn't give much contrast to the brown table, IMO, but would work fine. If they are RED, then that's a better contrast. Have you checked the inside leg dimension on the table to ensure any of the optional chairs will fit with enough comfort space (elbow room) for the sitters if you are putting 2 chairs per side? Comments (4)Queen Anne, Chippendale, Hepplewhite,Sheraton and perhaps some Biedermier and Neoclassical chairs would work. You could even do a skirted chair or a very small scaled wing chair. How many chairs do you need. What room is this for? Do you have other English styles in your home? I have a pair of Martha Washington chairs next to a small dining table. Comments (1)Don't buy expensive chairs right now. Down the line, your taste may change and the "forever" chairs you buy today, may not work with the "forever" table in the future. Standing alone, a lot of tables look like desks. You can change up that look with less expensive chairs now, that are still sturdy. I understand... if they were not comfortable that is an important consideration. But the shape and style of the chairs is fine for MCM. And the color is fine, too. You could get something similar in a fabric versus a leather.
The black looks good to me here. And your actual table is not quite this dark.
ETA: And the style of the chairs in this rendering is good, too.

I have these from West Elm and love them. Everyone comments on how comfortable they are.

sorry these are expensive but I don't think the chairs should have competing wood and if they have metal they need need an organic material, not plastic.
so if these are unaffordable I would look for a different kind of leather chair , or maybe metal with fabric or cane

These also come in charcoal. Even though they are less money I think they have virtues in that they are not leather (since you said you didn't want leather) and the criss-cross base is fun with the entirely of your table.

Great table! Whatever you choose, either the chair legs or the upholstery should be the same color/finish/material as the table (or your floors). See how chair legs in photo below echo table and darker planks of wood floor. Those incredibly comfortable chairs BTW--Eero Saarinin original or quality copy of his Executive Chair-- would work beautifully with your table no matter what upholstery color or material you choose. Check out the reputation of companies that manufacture good copies of classic modern designs. That design has an armchair version as shown below or armless version for side chairs.

You mean like a mix and match? My intent is to run 3 chairs a side and leave the ends exposed as a baseline setup.
Do you think green would clash too much with the other strong colors in the open space? Would tan leather chairs be too matchy matchy with the sectional and counter stools?
