Thank you - I have been worried about that! Just not sure what way to go for flooring on an open house floor plan when we have 2 dogs that are in and out a lot so need flooring that is more water resistant. We have porcelain tile now and dislike how quickly the grout lines get dirty & it's so hard on the feet. The kitchen needs replacing because almost all the tile are cracked - we installed ourselves :(

The counter top guys can measure the cabinets to the floating floor. They will trim the waterfall sides/front to the top of the floor (that has already been installed). The island has to be installed first (must have plastic down underneath it...wood is not allowed to sit on concrete). Have the floors run up to the cabinets (with the gap needed). Then the counter top dudes do the measurements and have the waterfall sit just a SNICK above the floor....it should 'hover' over the floor or just touching the flooring. If that doesn't work...then you must use a permanent floor (glue down vinyl/tile/etc) underneath the waterfall. And if you don't want that...then the waterfall might be out.

SJ McCarthy you are sooo correct. Something just wasn’t sitting right with me so looking into two different avenues— one is to stick with vinyl but look at the light blonde colors that will contrast nicely with the cherry and also go with my other rooms. The other is to look at vinyl tile for the kitchen in a light color again and then do the “wood” vinyl in my other rooms. As I have that break in rooms now between linoleum and carpet.

You cut it at a line that has a small expansion gap to the legs, and the applied toekick should cover that cut edge.
