IMO bedrooms can be totally different than the rest of the house both in color and style. Ialso think kids rooms belong to them and they should love whatever color they love at the moment. I find I keep the walls fairly neutral and use the color of the year for things easily changed like bedding , pillows any accents. UNless of course you love painting. How old is your daughter that often tells me how long the color will be a fave. I just looked up Glimmer it is very neutral so be happy it is not purple or orange or like our oldest boy black.

SW Alabaster is a soft off white. I have it in two if my rooms. I can't imagine any color that is couldn't go with.

That said, I agree with Patricia. It's a private bedrooms with a door, not open concept.

The point is it doesn't matter if it works with the wall color outside that bedroom so unless I am missing something let her choose the color.

I am going to agree with you that SW glimmer is going to be too clean with Alabaster trim, ceiling and doors. Might be better with something a bit more saturated - maybe Rainwashed.

Has she picked out her bedding? You will want to do that first, then get a wall color to go with the bedding.

I have to agree with Patricia. Dont worry about the Alabaster. Its your daughters room. Let her pick the color and be happy with the room. They grow and they move out before you know it, then its time, to decorate in your own taste.

She likes SW glimmer but I am not sure if it matches?

I works very well with Alabaster - on two points. First, the color relationship is on point and secondly, they're close in terms of Chroma. Colors with the same or similar Chroma go together is a basic rule of thumb in the Munsell color system.

Plus, there's a lil pop of contrast in Value; walls will look darker than trim/ceiling. That's a good thing.

I loved Sea Salt. alas alas, it looked baby blue in my north/facing LR. Rainwashed looks like a bluish/aqua in my child’s north-facing bathroom

SW Frostwork looks greenish-gray in that same LR with an Alabaster ceiling.

My point is that you have to put up samples and see what your lighting does.

also, know your child: does her taste change frequently? Mine knows her own mind and preferences. i did not hesitate to paint her room the color that she wanted.

We used sw sea salt in our bedroom although for kids room woukd go bighter. sea salt has some grey in it. blue greens look nothing like sample colors on the wall (or like on other peoples walls!!!) as they are so light dependent. i bought 5-6 samples and tried them. Well bought 2 then 2 more then….

Agree with not worrying too much about matching in kids room. , but I used SW Tidewater in a laundry room with existing off white trim. It may be too bright an aqua for DD, but just saying that SW “ card “ of aquas— Rainwater may be in it- or some of the adjacent ones may be promising.

You need to figure out the lighting. Aqua paint can look muddy in certain lighting.

I would try 3500K-4000K light bulbs in the room before choosing cool-toned paint colors. See if you like that color temperature for lighting.

BTW, my favorite aqua was BM iceberg in a pearl sheen, but it may be too saturated (or blue) for the bedroom.
