Cabinet hardware... HELP! (Photos)
Comments (4)One of my big goals for my kitchen was to minimize cleaning effort. If you have the same requirement, be sure to consider how easy the hardware will be to keep clean. When I was trying to choose, I went to a couple of big box stores and bought one sample piece of lots of styles and various finishes, took them home and held them up, then returned them. (As long as you are careful with the packaging, they are still perfectly sellable for the store.) You may be surprised to find you like a finish you didn't think of. I think a dark finish might look good in there, since there are some dark veins in Typhoon Green and you have that black chandelier. Some people use one finish on the bottom and another on the top, and it works. It seems that antiqued brass is making a comeback, and that might be pretty with your granite, too. I have stainless appliances, sink, and faucet, but ORB knobs, pulls , and pendants. Keep an open mind and try a bunch. That Aubrey handle is very pretty, though. I also like your pendants....See MoreIt is me again for cabinet hardware help AGAIN - please:)
Comments (20)These considerations above are the same I go back and forth and can't seem to make up my mind. Gosh, I didn't know deciding on handles would be so difficult! :) @ Mayflower: I am actually leaning towards the dakota wire pull in antique pewter. I like it because it is dark, but not "too" dark, like ORB. I looked at tons of white kitchens on pinterest and while I like black and ORB there, here in my home I feel it pops against the white cabinets and the overall feeling of the kitchen too much. @Herbflavor: Thanks for the compliments on my kitchen. That is what I was going for/wanted - a airy, light kitchen with a farm feel to it. But not too "farmy" if you get my meaning. I feel like a light hardware finish would make the kitchen even more "airy and light" (polished nickel) and love the look of it on pictures. Matter of a fact, I was almost certain I was going to choose the bistro handle in PN, but then, when I put it against the the cabinet in my kitchen, I didn't like it. I thought it was too chunky/big and shiny. @Pippabean: Thanks:) My little helper is great and has lots of opinions - she thinks herself and artist and because of that, her opinions is the one that should matter....lol Actually some of her opinions are good - she told me the kitchen had too much blue and need some other colors:) The backsplash is a portuguese tile I took forever to find and I am so happy with it. It makes me smile every time I look at it because it reminds me of my home country and, mostly, of my grandma (she was Portuguese) who was fantastic! They are blue and white. On the other walls, I have simple subway tiles by Fireclay in Tusk color. Thanks again everyone!...See MoreHelp the Color Illiterate: Options for Cabinet Hardware Colors HELP!
Comments (20)I think I like the brassier one (Option #1) as well as I do the champagne gold (#2) so I'd pick it. Actually, I may use it since I'm wanting a warm colored hardware to go with the gray cabinets we plan to go with. I'm also planning to use some gold light fixtures as well....See Morecabinet hardware help
Comments (4)You should be fine using those round knobs with those pulls. Schaub has designed the line to work together....See More- 7 months ago
