We just started renovations to the main floor of our home and I need to make some decisions on lighting.

Our new kitchen has white cabinetry with brushed nickel hardware. White subway tiles as backsplash. Hardwood oak floors medium/light brown stain and two wood stained open shelves. Countertop is light quartz with some brown veining. Kitchen island is 4’x8’ with a single sink.

I would like to have pendant lights over the island and am trying to decide between clear glass lights or maybe black pendant lights since there is quite a bit of white in the kitchen.

We also have a two storey foyer/entryway that I plan on replacing the current chandelier. Something with the wow factor as it will be next to our new staircase. New staircase is square oak posts, with new oak railings and new black metal balusters and oak stairs.

All rooms will have pot lights, except foyer and dining room.

Any suggestions on the type of lighting that would accentuate our new renovations would be appreciated.
