Marble slab for alcove bathtub wall How hard to clean daily, weekly? Vs porcelain slab of same style. What about stai ing w Bath salts.bubbles.shamppos. etc
Marble will stain or etch more readily in a shower because of porosity. Color-through porcelain is essentially non-porous and will be more resistent to stains, etching and cleaning products. Even the wrong cleaning products could damage marble.
My sister has marble tile.she just uses tilex in her shower. And my niece has this marble.she says she has never cleaned it. Of course her once a week housekeeper does. I'm replacing my cast iron tub.i can't do an acrylic after that.i just want deeper. And if longer yeah. But not in my primary Bath will I use one of those standards.
IF she has used Tilex regularyly, she has dissolved her marble into nothingness, with holes in it. She either does not have marble, or is not using standard Tilex.
Self admitted slobs should never use natural stone. Porcelain tile with epoxy grout only. But you will still have major issues, as mold and mildew will grow on all the skin and soap deposits. Large format porcelain is as expensive as putting quartz or exotic stone on your walls. So if you are getting cheap charlie quotes, you will have a complete disaster on your hands.
