This was growing on a planted bank along the Willamette River. It was in an area with both natives and exotics. I saw no evidence of irrigation.

It looks to me like Carpenteria, but the form is not what I am used to seeing. Perhaps it is just the way it looks in the PNW. The plant looks unhappy in general, with a lot of clinging dead foliage. Is this normal here?

There were lots of flower remains but I could not find seed that looked viable.
