Not sure exactly, but the trunk and the spiky needles would seem to indicate a Juniper. Regardless, this tree should not be kept indoors. However, without knowing where you live - specifically, how cold it is in your area - we can't advise you where you should keep the tree. Hopefully someone with a more expert eye will drop in. Josh

Looks like tumbled granite. Or possibly even a tumbled concrete product. You might take a sample to a local landscape supply yard and talk to a sales person. Even if they don't carry, they might know what it is or who sells.

You should be able to. ALL type 2's are large flowered hybrids and the pruning guidelines for these are pretty uniform. Type 1's are early blooming vines - almost always species clems - and are generally lumped in the 'no prune' category, unless you need to limit or reduce size. Type 3's are late flowering vines and generally a mix of species and hybrids that bloom on the current season's growth so amenable to hard pruning. Just an FYI but it is always recommended to check out mail order vendors on the Garden Watchdog website before ordering. There are good vendors and bad and Burgess (and its related companies) is right up there with some of the worst.
