Some affordable steps to get the ball rolling while you save up for a designer:

--Yes, as @Sigrid says, declutter like mad so you can see the space clearly. Too many tables, chairs, scrap wood, dead plants, and junk.

--Paint both buildings the same color, cream that goes well with your red pavers. There is so much visual clutter, it's hard to see what's what. Painting both buildings crream is the best thing you can do to get a unified look. Next thing, is to refinish wood beams, porches, and the gate at the end of the alley. etc. so all the finishes are the same. You don't need a landscape designer for this. Hire labor to help you do the job. Once you're done, you'll have two cream, bright structures with nice wood finishes on both that go together. Your reddish patio stone does pull things together.

--Are you artists, sculptors, builders and need all that wood scrap? Then off it goes. If it has to stay for professional reasons, then consider wood screening and store all those materials in that area out of view.

--Throw out all dead plants. If they're not dead, then arrange them all along the wall with no junk leaning against the wall.

--Paint two of your wood chairs the same color as the Adirondack chairs. Arrange them in a circle around a table on the red paver patio to create a conversational grouping where people can gather. Better: Once you get rid of all other seating, tables, random stuff cluttering up under the porch, arrange inviting seating there where you probably get shade at different times of day. Why are you not using that space now and blocking those windows? Later on you can get wood benches, stools, etc. for gatherings. But pare down the furniture to the least amount you need. People can bringing folding chairs if you're short on chairs for an occasional party. Guests want a nice, uncluttered, open space.

--For the porch attached to house, move all the obstacles in front of the door. Swap the couch location so it's on the wall. Put your guy's comfy chair and ottoman where couch is facing the view. This will open up the porch, which is blocked by sofa. ONE TABLE ONLY--maybe a round nesting table that can be pulled out as needed. That tiny porch could be such an inviting spot, but it's poorly thought out with obstacles blocking the flow.

--I like the painted blue porch ceiling. Do the blue on on the floor with special cement paint and blue entry doors to both buildings.
