Selecting Engineered Flooring - Oh, the frustration!
Comments (4)woodfloorpro, you are exactly right. I finally abandoned the big box route and talked to several hardwood floor dealers in the Spokane area. Paul, at Quality Hardwood Floors has been extremely helpful. I thought that an engineered floor would be much less expensive than solid hardwood - WRONG! For less than $1/sq. ft. more than I was look at in an engineered floor, we are getting a solid hardwood floor. We are going with WD Hardwoods, probably in a rustic Red Oak. Thanks for the input all....See Morevaulted ceilings, brick fireplace, oak floors oh my
Comments (13)I think you were right. After much thought, I chose bleeker beige and neutralized the entire room. Amazing....I was a little scared when it first went up because while it was still wet it looked greenish. However, now that it is dry, I can say it is really nice. In some light it looks a little gray and in other light it looks a little tan. This color is the answer to the "what grey can you do with golden oak floors or wood molding" question. The painter is 75 percent done. I will post pics when he is done. Then perhaps everyone here can help me choose an accent color for the room!...See MoreTalk About Floors, Oh My.
Comments (4)Wow. I was an archaeologist in a former life and those stories always fascinate me but also make me sad. We call that sort of dig "salvage archaeology" and it doesn't allow for real study of the site. I also wonder what else is under there that will never see the light of day. Maybe just as well....See MoreFlooring, baseboards, trim oh my
Comments (8)We are completely redoing all of the trim, hence why I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. We've replaced a lot drywall in our house actually and just replaced all the windows. I'm glad someone agrees on the gray. I never thought my husband would go for the gray flooring. Thank you for your comment!...See MoreRelated Professionals
