I just noticed this random woody stem of leaves growing in my flower bed near the base of the builder grade bamboo shrub in the photos. The leaf characteristics do not match any of the builder shrubs nor any of my own flowering plants I've planted last year (Lantana, Knockout roses, Sweet Drift roses, aster, dianthus, Texas Sage). The tree types in my neighborhood are shumard red oak and maple, which definitely don't match this either.
The leaves are toothed and both the surface of the leaves and the stem is very hairy. The hairyness feels gritty instead of smooth. Any ideas?
