The cabinet guy is here installing my reface if my center island. I had wanted shaker style cabinet doors but he added a center stile so they are now mission style. The door he brought over didn’t have this center stile so I’m feeling very confused at how this happened. It’s beautiful rift sawn white oak. I had been wanting to update the kitchen but now I feel like it’s taking it back more traditional. I am planning to do painted shaker cabinet doors to replace the other side of the kitchen as phase two of the refacing. I’m just so disappointed that this is a very different look than I was going for. I heard him mention the word mission but I thought that was the same as shaker with no center stile and I’m more confused since the door he brought me to look at didn’t have a center stile. I don’t know if the shaker on one side can even worn with the mission on the island. Looking for feedback.
