Thanks for replying Bill. Our current bathroom counters are 32.5" high. I don't recall ever seeing a vanity 35 to 36". That wouldn't work for my short self (5' 3/4"). I can't measure the new master vanity because it's at the painter's "clean room" being stained. But, I'm sure it's the same as what was in there. Yes, the final height is 39 1/2". Should the pencil rail run under the glass tile at the backsplash or just sit right on the granite? I'm thinking sit on the granite. oruboris, On the opposite wall from the bathroom door, is the vanity (67" long). It will hbe framed by an arch (the width of the vanity), lighting above that. A mini chandelier over the tub (to the left), a wall sconce light on the right wall, white crown moulding and a pale muted aqua colored ceiling. Wall color is BM Lenox Tan. Will that be enough to bring the eye up? I admit, I'm a little concerned about all this starting at 26" from the floor but the alternative is to have a partial wall tile. Monica

We gutted the entire house and are done with everything but kitchen and main floor bath. Shaker 3 panel doors, shaker cabinets, wide shaker style trim. We used tongue and groove knotty pine boards and reversed them on the ceiling and painted white - so there is some cracking and wearing, turned out great! I did black octagon floor tile with white subway tile for wall in downstairs bath and got sconces from RH. I don't know, Ha- I think it's going to be vintage chic farmhouse meets rustic / industrial?! :)

@samuelzmom @angharad_musladin Hoping either of you or anyone can offer some advice. I read this thread before I ordered my weathered white zellige tile from cle but I ordered anyway in hopes of achieving my own swoon worthy zellige kitchen to match what I see all over social media. I’m in the middle of my install and now panicked. The color feels totally wrong - my lot seems most white/cool tones. I understood the tile had high color variations but I thought that meant high variation between my 19 boxes - that I would have a mix of white, cream, pink pink, and blues. I don’t know what to do now. Will grout improve this? I’m realizing there aren’t a lot of pre and post grout examples out there. Is this a trust the process type thing? My kitchen feels like a cartoon. Is this normal? LOL My samples are on the countertop for reference. They were much warmer (what I hoped for).

Edit Beth I think we cross posted. I have followed them on IG, that’s where I fell in love <3 Wow, you kind of can really tell the difference when you see the zellige side by side with the ceramic. Ok- so the glazing makes the tile less porous. That would make sense. I’m gonna have to read some more. Id hate to miss out on doing zellige because of an untrue bad reputation. It seems that my choices typically have asking “really?” until they see the finished product lol. Like when I insisted our floors be redone before we moved in (despite the fact that they had just been done... in oil based semi gloss). Or when I insisted we pull down the wood paneling in our bedroom instead of painting over it. I have a little bit of a chip on my shoulder (admittedly) about doing things my way. I find that a lot of people miss out on things they would have loved because they let themselves get talked into what’s easy. That’s a bit of a tangent- but it’s true! On a semi related note- I meant to ask this too might as well ask here. Has anybody ever bought like secondhand tile from Craigslist? I just got to thinking one day it probably would save so much money. I buy everything else used anyway.
