Hello - desperate to add texture / softness to the dining room area (I’m not replacing chairs with upholstered…they are brand new). The only thing I can think to do is add a rug under the table. The blue tape shows an 8x10 rug. Does it leave enough room to walk into the kitchen? Not sure if it’s awkward to walk on the corner of the rug. Also is it awkward if it’s not centered on the window? If I center it on the window I’m really getting close to kitchen entry point. Any other ideas to soften the space? We left the window uncovered for 2 reasons…it’s an awkward double window. And also it’s a pretty view into the yard during the day. The rest of the window treatments are plantation shutters.
Not sure what to do here.
