HELP: How to TRAP / extinguish crickets AT ENTRY POINT??

I’ve read PLENTY of articles on how, why and where pests enter your home from but I’m left scratching my head!
We have new windows, the baseboards touch the ground snuggly. (Even with them expanding and retracting due to weather change).
The home is spotless and not as lived in as one would like. We keep the front door closed and are super cautious of anything entering!
The pipes, ahhh the pipes it’s possible for them to enter through pipes or the walls which is super creepy but I don’t see entry points for this? I need a confirmation!
WHAT CAN I USE TO TRAP THE INSECT AS SOON AS IT ENTER SO I CAN DISCOVER THE ENTRY POINT?
I don’t want to use something that “attracts” or “lures” insects, because I don’t want many insects!!
I don’t want something that they digest and take back to their colony slowly killing them and their colony because they often disperse and die in your walls or wherever they came from and MY GOAL is to discover where that entry point is!
They’re coming from somewhere so if I add traps near those entry points I can check the traps and I’ll have confirmation!!
Right?
Also we are an apartment above a garage.
*Crickets (keep ending up in the bathtub)
*Cockroach (really nasty, only happened twice I think from the front door but we took care of that)
