How do you keep the linen closet fresh?
Comments (3)I used to buy bar soap in bulk. (I now make my own) I would open only one end of the soap and slide it in the corner of every drawer. I had some of them in there for years. My clothes always came out smelling fresh and clean. I now make soaps and sachets in my preferred scents and do the same. When the scent starts getting weak I replace the soap with a fresh one and use the bar I had in the drawer. It is nice and aged so it lasts a lot longer than a freshly made bar....See MoreWhere do you store bulky linens
Comments (20)I don't think I've seen this mentioned here yet.. I bought 2 or 3 of the space saver bags that they advertise on television. I put all my comforters in 1 (about 3 or 4) and then placed my sheets on top. I put my extra pillows in another. Once I vacuumed out all of the air I was left with a 2' cube that I put on the high shelf of my bedroom closet. Anytime a guest comes over and needs a comforter/pillow I open the bags and shake the item out. Then they're good as new. Before I got these I would literally take up my entire linen closet with stuff. Now I put my extra towels in these as well to save space. These also help with water damage. I had a pipe burst in my master bathroom the other day. Everything in my closet was soaked, but the blankets I had in there stayed dry. I know I sound like an infomercial here haha, but I swear by these things now....See Morehow do you to clean linen barstools so no water marks remain

Comments (30)bpath, I takes a while for them to dry. I am now using her fitted sheets (easier) and they seem to dry more quickly. I think they are not as thick as the flat sheets. With the flat sheets as a bottom sheet I usually had to wait three or four hours, but we keep our heat pretty low. If I am in a hurry, I close the doors to the bedroom and turn the heat up to 70. Then, it will only take an hour or so. I am retired, no kids at home, and no schedule to meet. I honestly love these sheets! I also use the towels in the summer, although I prefer terrycloth towels in the winter! It is astounding how absorbent the linen is. ETA: If I am feeling lazy, I do not iron the pillow slips, but I do like the look of freshly ironed linen and I do not mind ironing at all....See MoreRelated Professionals
