I’m very excited about my house but the wife and I are in the mudding doldrums and it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever get to a move in date. were doing a lot of the work ourselves and we’ve been ’stuck in the mud’ for weeks. we’d like to be in the unfinished house by Christmas and although I’m hopeful.. I just don’t know.

Those of you building your own home, what kept you going? Does it ever end?

We’re like… out of money, out of energy and a little out of our minds.

GC did concrete/foundation, framing, windows, electrical, plumbing and roof.

Since last October we’ve taken on the exterior siding, insulation, drywall and now mud/texture.
