Deep pink Rose ID: Zaide? Flamenco Rosita maybe?
Friends have this big rose shrub in the yard. They got it from Home Depot or Lowes. Flower has very bright pink color, blooms abundantly, with very healthy leaves. No fragrance.
This bush shot shows lighter color but it’s generally on darker side
I am wondering could it be Flamenco Rosita?

Comments (36)Thank you everyone for your suggestions. The 5 ft depth is not critical since the rose could extend beyond the stairs. So Mrs BR Cant is still in the running especially with pat's photos. Barbarag thank you from reminding me to check on Ascot's disease resistance in my area. I do know it's somewhat hydrophobic, it's difficult to rewet when it dries out, so I try to only use it with plants like roses where I know I'm paying attention to the soil dampness. It's silty with some organic matter, a local landscaping company mixes it and they just called it "native soil amended planting mix". The roses planted in it are doing really good. I'd love to dig out some of the clay in the yard and mix it in with the amended soil but there are just too many tree roots, I don't have any soil to spare! Organic matter is hard to come by (inexpensively, I mean). I go back every fall to Minneapolis to visit and I swear that this year I'm bringing back bags of leaves that everyone bags for the city to take away, I'll bring back as many as I have room for! My only natural source of organic is pine needles and those take For Ever to decompose. Someone is gifting me with their old wood chipper so I'm gong to see if it's possible to break up pine needles with it. I also bought a fall "cover crop" mix to plant to start building biomass on my thin soil. My neighbor has AD in a container, full sun, it seems to do quite well, although I personally think it's time for a bigger pot! Comments (144)Judith: Pumice is porous volcanic rocks with neutral pH, versus red and black lava rock at high pH over 9. Pumice comes in smaller particles, and used for growing succulents with its fast drainage. Pumice is very expensive at over $25 for 3 gallons, versus I can get a 40 lb. of lava rock for $6 at Menards store. last yearI’m not seeing a silver reverse on yours but I’m going to throw Wedding Bells out there because I have a decent amount of Kordes roses and none seem quite right. That foliage and lack of fragrance make me wonder if it could be Wedding Bells and perhaps the silver reverse has already faded on the one your friend has
