Comments (18)We are building and in the framing stage now. When the foundation was poured, I thought the house was too small and started freaking out. I should have known better since this was our second time building and I had the same panic on our first one. After the house was framed, things looked bigger but not as I had imagined it. I am sure when the walls go up, the house will look even bigger. One thing that really made me worry was the size of the kitchen. The architect plans say that it is 17'2" wide by 19" long. It is a U shaped kitchen with 2 islands. I have been told is a good size but when I saw it at the foundation stage, I wanted to enlarge it. My builder and architect were able to reassure me and now it feels bigger and hopefully feel even bigger after sheetrock. I think the chair trick is a good one to try. Will see how it changes my perception. Thanks again to everyone posting...See MoreLooking for a nice complimentary color for accessible beige. Help!
Comments (6)Thanks for responding. We painted the guest room Chivalry Copper (Makes the room look old to me). I love the beige/taupe/creams/grays. My home office is painted balanced beige, my son's room is painted worldly gray, our master bedroom is painted bradstreet beige with jackson tan accent wall and now I'm looking to repaint the guest room. I'm also considering repainting the bradstreet beige ( I see pink in that color). I'm hopeful this site can assist me in making some good choices for both the guest room and master bedroom. Using a bucket with screen instead of a pan, put on another coat, making sure you have enough paint on the roller to get an even coat without using excess pressure. If it is lower end paint, it might need two more coats and wait plenty of time to let it dry well before you paint again. Anytime you paint, expect to use two coats of paint. Your first coat just acted like a primer so you will definitely need at least one more coat. Raw drywall soaks up an incredible amount of paint....See MoreRelated Professionals
