I'm looking for advice on a simple, clean looking option for under-cabinet lighting for cabinets that do NOT have a valance (and I do not want to add one).

One option our contractor suggested is using recessed puck lights and adding a false bottom shelf to the bottom cabinets to hide the cords, but I'm wondering if there are any other options out there - such as thin profile bar lights with built-in valance?

Another option I found is using thin profile puck lights with cords 'hidden' in a channel along the back wall.
