while repoting in spring would be a good idea, you can probably just spiral the strands around in the pot and they will root. You shouldn't let it dry out completely. It sounds like it needs some more frequent watering. It helps to understand the growth habit of that plant. Typically they are in hanging baskets, but they are really a creeping ground cover. When they are hanging down and really long it's pretty easy for them to sacrifice the old stem and leaves for the newer growth. I get strands that crap out fron the base regularly from all those similar Senecio species, for no apparent reason. The plant is pretty well adapted to falling down a bunch of rock and rooting the jumper in some crack thus forming a new plant.

She is definitely sophisticated (in the areas in which she's sophisticated, of course -- not everything! :)) and she's a Virgo, too, which makes her make quick decisions while her Libra mother sits around for weeks and weighs pros and cons 18 different ways :) barb--thanks for your reply. It is such an interesting color, isn't it? And that you don't see green in low light is really useful...at night under the incandescents is when we see the green come out in the samples, very like the Gustavian Gray. Maybe it's comparing it to white that makes it look more blue? I bet that is one beautiful basement!

What about a soft gray blue color that will not clash with the tan in the other room. Some blue Pearls with the right light have bits of silver mica that almost look white. Have you looked at any paint swatches? You said the lighting is bright. Excellent you have so many options available to you. I love the idea of a blue gray. It’s time to restart your string of pearls:). I find with Senecio rowleyanus aka String of Pearls they sometimes need a restart. This video is good. The brown nubs are new roots. The nub I circled red is a healthy new root, but not sure what’s going on in the white circle. Could just be the pic. They also could look strange because they’re old and calloused over. If I could give any advice with these it would be really good airflow. They can handle a decent amount of water for succulents. They need a fast draining mix. A good cheap mix is 60% rinsed/dried perlite and 40% cactus soil. Senecio rowleyanus aka String of Pearls are actually ground cover in their natural habitat.
