Newly renovated house. House design is modern. Contractor installed this staircase and it’s been bothering me. I was dreaming of a gorgeous, modern staircase. This design is too traditional for my home - the moldings and the rounded edges. I know I can remove the moldings. Is there anything I can do with this, to make this a show-stopping, modern, beautiful staircase? Perhaps banister ideas? (Removing the staircase and starting again seems wasteful, but I am secretly dreaming of a floating staircase…) THANK YOU for any suggestions!! The 2nd pic is a random idea I had using the existing staircase and building wood pieces to make it look more visually interesting. Please help!
