I have a variety of japanese maple trees - full and dwsrf, palm and lace leaf, red orange and yellow - which result in seedlings. If seed sown maples vary widely from their parents, how might I predict their eventual appearance? Will color be apparent from the start? Anything else? Any tips on transplanting?
