Thanks dev but I think the pic is deceiving, the pot is no wider than my regular 5 gallons, it is just a 2.5 gallon. I know the whole citrus taproot thing isn't true but I would imagine that as the trees get big the roots will almost fill the pot. No? The tall pots still make sense for me for space conservation in my grow room. I noticed the same thing Laura as repotted but I assumed that was because the old mix was boggy so the roots didn't want to go down. I thought with the 511 they may be more inclined to spread out a bit.

Susanne, that is a lovely tree and the fruit is lovely also. What selection of Femminello cultivar do you have? Laura and I are both patiently waiting to get ripe fruit off of our trees and Laura asked the same questions that I am interested in learning about your trees. My ST lemons fell off ( last winter) just before turning yellow and they were a bit under developed, but the scent of the rind and the bit of juice I did get from two fruit was excellent. Take it out of the pot, shake off the loosest dirt; put it in the new pot straight; and backfill around it to keep it straight. Water it in well to settle it; and don't forget to turn the pot a quarter turn periodically. With that, you should get a straighter, more even tree. Your Meyer will suffer a little transplant shock; but if done quickly, at that size, it should be minimal.

Kendra got back to me and below is her response, I guess it could just be a coincidence that both Pac's and my tree are sharing similar symptoms at the same time and the wind damage is what hurt my tree. I don't know what else to do if that's not the case, I don't know how I would prove its dry root rot (or something else) and that it had it before I received the tree. I guess we will just wait and see if my tree recovers. I am reluctant to order another tree from them if its going to have the same problem but there doesn't really seem to be another supplier so I don't really have a choice if I want this variety. Here's hoping this tree makes it through winter. Pac how is your tree looking? Hello there, Thank you for sending over pictures it helps us understand what you are seeing. I’m thinking that coming from our growing houses into a new environment and then getting blasted by some wind has cause this damage. Wind damage on citrus trees often looks like this. I wouldn’t be surprised if these leaves turn brown and crispy, unfortunately it may get worse before it gets better. So if that happens the leaves will probably fall off. You may even want to help them along. As long as your stems/branches stay green and have no die back, and it may take a while but the tree should push some new growth. The Santa Theresa’s are very hardy lemons. Because you live in Oregon this tree is going to need an adjustment period but it should bounce back. Keep us updated!!
